I was involved in the drafting of CA. Proposition 209 which banned racial preferential treatment in college admissions and government hiring. The Proposition won handily in a liberal state. Same was true with Proposition 200 in the state of Washington. Americans know that racial preferences and quotas violate the American creed for hard work and merit. It simply fails the sniff test---it stinks of elitism to high heaven. Jim
