Unfortunately, the word "Republican" might kill the hopes of good conservatives running for election and reelection. New Hampshire's Sununu is a solid conservative on most issues. He deserves to be reelected. Yet he trails in the polls by 14 points. This is because the "Republican" brand is toxic. Eight years of Bush and a prolifigate spending record by Republican congresses had destroyed the brand. The only question is can the brand be repackaged as conservative or should those of us who are conservative establish a new brand. Jim
