Charter schools are an important tool for improving the cesspool that is now urban public education. Can Obama crawl out of the teacher union monopoly? Only time will tell---but I'm not an optimist. Obama will have to start clipping his left wing to win the election. No real sign of the shears yet. Jim

One has to ask, is the objective of the teacher's union to educate children or is it to assure job security, good pay for teachers, great benefits for teachers and retirement pensions for teachers--the students be damned?
