Tony Blair Assumes New Role As Yale Teacher -- Courant.com

I have a great respect for Tony Blair. He changed the face of the Labour party as Margaret Thatcher changed the face of the Tories before him. Whether you agree with his politics or not, he has been a great and courageous leader. Read this article, its important, it talks about a great leader who is unabashed about talking about his faith. Jim P.S. As an asside, I must say how embarrassed I was for America when Tony Blair and George W. Bush had podiums side by side and addressed the press. How I yearned for a President who can talk.

Respect for Blair? So have I, and I'm British.

You don't often hear that now, do you?

For a number of years all we have heard from the antis in the British press is that we had a weak man/liar/war criminal with no scruples running our country. In fact the opposite is and always was the truth. It is becoming clearer to even MY brainwashed countrymen as we struggle to cope under his successor's control.

And the vacuous opposition Conservatives, with their leader David Cameron, (a great admirer of Blair), has nothing new to offer us apart from Blair Mark 2. No vision. No understanding of the global issues facing us. Nothing about the Islamisation of MY country.

It's been a grey political scene since Blair left, and politics is now as inspiring as a wet day in London.

I agree about the comparison between Blair's & Bush's communication skills. How could I do otherwise? Though I rather admire Bush for also recognising one of the biggest issues facing the world right now.

Blair was always, instinctively, able to enunciate his position. This ability won his party three general elections in a row - a historical first for Labour. I think he would have won a fourth if he hadn't been forced out by Little People in his own party (and Gordon Brown).

Now we watch as Labour dies in slow motion, after all the work Blair did to make it the natural party of government.

So sad.

Still, his other passion is religion. Perhaps now he can make a difference in this area and put a stop to political/religious fundamentalism.

I sincerely hope so.

That kind of leadership is sorely needed right now.
