Read this article and you will understand that a national crisis is in the making. America has no rational plan for public education. No Child Left Behind has been a disaster. I believe we should revisit the 10th Amendment and return education to the individual states. With education we need to think micro, not macro--ie. each student must become more important than the whole. The reason is because the whole is merely theory and current theory is faulty. You learn to read by doing certain things--the same with math and all subjects. There isn't any short cut. Jim
