Op-Ed Columnist - Change I Can Believe In - NYTimes.com

This is an excellent article by that eternal pragmatist, David Brooks. David used to be a conservative and now has morphed into a New York Times conservative, ie. a centrist. A lot of what he writes here makes sense. But you can't run government by slide rule--a human element must be present. I was pleased to see him include Diane Ravitch amongst those people he thinks should be in the new administration. I consider Diane Ravitch to be America's expert on public education. Combine Ravitch with Michelle Rhee (superintendent of the D.C. public schools) and you might see some real positive change. Jim PS: David---anyone who trusts government is a fool.
