ReviewJournal.com - News - UMC cutting more services

The nation, states and local governments are broke. Note the language in the 9th paragraph of this article. "It' unknown how many of the affected patients are illegal immigrants because the hospital does not track the immigration status of patients. Illegal immigrants do not qualify for Medicaid". Now it seems to me that the hospital should track the immigration status of patients. If they are illegals they should not be served---because to serve an illegal will mean that some American citizen gets served late or not at all. We need to return to common sense. If someone doesn't qualify for a government service, it shouldn't be provided to that someone. Let me expand. Do we really need to subsidize three/forths of the world with foreign aid? Can we afford that cost? Do we really need our military in Japan? World War Two ended in 1945. Maybe our current economic downturn can, in some ways, be a blessing. Maybe it will force our government to be as frugal as it has family spending. Jim
