Thomas Friedman is right on with this column. He outlines in dramatic fashion what we, as a nation, need to do. Let me add a few things. We do not have the luxury to continue to be the world's policeman or the world's welfare agency. Our imperialism is unjustified and our compassion is misplaced. Now is the time to fix our own house.
