Charter Schools Gain in Stimulus Scramble - WSJ.com

Now here's a piece of good news. Our public schools have been going down hill ever since the Reagan epoch proclamation "A Nation At Risk". George H.W. Bush shrugged it off and so did each successive President. George W. Bush federalized education and thereby destroyed any incentive to experiment and create new and better methods to educate. The major reason public education has failed has been the strangle hold on schools by the Teachers Union. The only way to improve public education is to reduce the power of the unions. Jim
