When a liberal columnist for the very liberal New York Times attacks teachers unions you know those unions are bad. Actually, they're worse than bad. They have been and are destroying qauality education for generations of public school students. This is why America has become "the ignorant society". Does Obama have the guts to do something? We'll have to wait and see. Jim
