I suppose you can call McCain's FEC trouble poetic justice. As described by the GOP establishment, this great "conservative" is caught in a trap of his own making. Poor John just doesn't get it--government doesn't work. I remember a more simpler era when a candidate would rise and fall based on the money that candidate could raise without government interference--a time when a campaign didn't need a stable of accountants. Our political system operated pretty well that way for close to 200 years. I do believe in campaign financial sunshine. Very simple--within 48 hours post on the web who gave and how much.
