McCain's Ties to Lobbyist Worried Aides - washingtonpost.com

It will be interesting to see how long this storyline runs. Does it have "legs" or is it a two day boomlet which rides off into the sunset. If it stays in the news, with continuing updates, McCain will be damaged beyond redemption. A strained comparison might be to the Eagleton story right after the Democrat convention in 1972. Occasionally there are times when unusual action must be taken to bring closure to negative news. After all, we're talking about who the next President will be. McCain should take a lie detector test (on TV) so Americans can see he really is the "straight talk express". If he passes it he should then sue the New York Times for 100 million in damages. Such action would put him on offense. Otherwise he'll probably die from 1,000 cuts. Jim
