Reading this article made me sad. Parenting and public education in the United States is broken. Disapline for all intents and purposes has been outlawed. This is why I admire those parents who home school---both the parents and the child is involved. This is why I admire many private schools and charter schools--they can get rid of non-functioning and disruptive students. It will be hard for the United States to maintain world class status if our public education system gives a pass to failure. Jim
